8 Things You May Not Know About Chelsea Jones!

  1. I have severe  arachnophobia…was hospitalized this phobia-induced sleep deprivation as a small
    child.  Totally weird.
  2. I love to cook (not bake.) I love to create healthy, vegetarian food.  I love to cook for friends.
  3. When I listen music on my iPod, I usually visualize myself as the drummer in the band and come away
    feeling empowered.  Rock on!
  4. My husband, Russ, and I always race each other home, albeit somewhat dangerous, when we happen to be
leaving somewhere across town in separate cars.  My kids love it.
  5. I have a super-hero-strength sense of smell.  It really is strange and kind of gross; maybe I need a cape (or a clothespin).
  6. I hate to go out shopping for clothes or gifts, it makes me feel sad, alone and off-center.  I wish that
we all just had fur instead.
  7. I look forward to going home to Northern Michigan more than anything else the whole year.  I love to
just sit at the lake and enjoy the cool breeze.  I am a northern girl at heart.
  8. I am a Master Frisbee Thrower!

Chelsea Jones came to mind-body exercise and therapeutic movement as a child searching for peace, clarity and refuge.  Moving her mind and body as one fueled her personal growth and continues to hone her deep sense of self.  She found that her internal focus had the power to calm all waters; it became her source of rejuvenation and love. Chelsea studied Pilates throughout the 90′s, undergoing teacher training in 2000 through the PhysicalMind Institute (NYC).  She is a member of, and is Certified by, the Pilates Method Alliance.  She gained her certification for the Gyrotonic Expansion System in 2002 (NYC), Gyrokinesis in 2004 (Miami) and also holds certifications for the Archway, Jumping Stretching Board and Gyrotoner.   Chelsea also loves to practice all genres of Yoga. Her favorite moment, when working with clients, is to see them realize a far greater potential within themselves.  She feels that all people have a personal pathway that, once followed to its origin and integrated throughout their system, ignites an effortless source of power and peace.

Chelsea’s favorite quote is her own translation of part of Chapter 22 from The Tao te Ching, by Lao Tsu:  “When I want to be whole, I’ll let myself be partial; when I want to be straight, I’ll let myself be crooked; when I want to be reborn, I’ll let myself die;  When I want to be given everything, I must give everything up.”
