EVOLVE Movement Yoga Descriptions

New to yoga? Our Beginning Yoga, Gentle Flow, Introductory or level 1 yoga classes of any style are the perfect place for you to begin. In these classes, you will learn the fundamentals of yoga asanas (poses), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation along with some history and philosophy behind this 5,000 year-old science. Our teachers cultivate a friendly environment where you are free to ask questions and explore yoga for the first time.

Prana Flow
Prana Flow® Energetic Vinyasa is a full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga created by Shiva Rea. Students of all levels are empowered to experience prana – the universal source of breath, life-energy and conscious intelligence – as the navigating source of yoga practice and vital living. Experience innovative approaches to Vinyasa yoga and the state of flow within the rhythm of class.

Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa Flow is a a type of yoga that sequences poses to flow together harmoniously. This style of yoga is intended to teach the foundations of vinyasa, allowing the connection between breath and body through mindful movement and heat-building sequences. Be prepared to sweat as energy begins to flow. We will have fun and play with poses that will challenge as well as keep us grounded. No prior Yoga experience is required.

Anusara Yoga
Anusara (a-nu-sar-a), means “flowing with Grace,” “flowing with Nature,” “following your heart.”
Founded by John Friend in 1997, Anusara yoga is a school of hatha yoga, which unifies a life-affirming Shiva-Shakti Tantric philosophy of intrinsic goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment. Anusara yoga has become one of the most highly respected schools of hatha yoga in large part because of its uplifting philosophy, epitomized by a “celebration of the heart” that looks for the good in all people and all things. Consequently, students of all levels of ability and yoga experience are honored for their unique differences, limitations, and talents. This celebratory vision sets the basis for a yoga school in which the harmony and joy of a tightly knit community of highly trained teachers and fun-loving students is exalted. This community feels like it has the tightness of a family, yet the looseness of a merry band of bohemian artists.

The Anusara program at Evolve provides its students with top-notch Anusara Yoga classes taught with a heart-oriented theme that is inspiring, concise, and clear. The methodology within this practice inspires practitioners to live in a joyful way, both in the practice and in the world. Each class within the Anusara program emphasizes skillful alignment and balanced action of the body, empowering students to gain the necessary tools to create harmonious conditions within their physical bodies. Evolve’s Anusara program invites each practitioner to become more connected with his or her inherent radiance through the practice of yoga, and the teachers consistently support each individual on his or her path while fully celebrating community and the beauty of its diversity.

Power Flow
Power Flow is a physically challenging vinyasa class that links breath with movement while deepening a student’s awareness of alignment, basic yoga postures, physical condition and spirit. Ideal for intermediate students and those looking to refine, BUT also good for a new student with physical stamina, attention to detail and biomechanical awareness.

Hatha Flow
Hatha flow is a physically rigorous and internally rejuvenating approach to yoga that creatively integrates breath and movement. With an emphasis on longer holds and a slower pace of flow, hatha flow will expand your knowledge of alignment and help you to experience the benefits of the yoga asanas and pranayama. The slower pace allows for a deeper sense of awareness and introspection during your practice.

Yin Yoga
Life requires balance – yoga requires balance. If you find yourself completely immersed in the ‘yang’ style of yoga, the active muscular form, it may be time to discover the missing half, the ‘yin’ style that works the deep tissues, energy body, and mind/body. Through gentle, long holds, this class will access and open the yin tissues (tendons, ligments, fascia) of the body.

  • Private or Semi-Private Yoga: All private and semi-private classes are one hour in length and take place in our studio. Pricing
    Private yoga sessions transform your personal practice by creating a safe space for your to explore specific body/mind questions with the undivided attention of your instructor. People who have enjoyed a private session, tailored to fit their individual needs are:

    • Beginners
    • Clients healing from injuries or chronic illness
    • Those wanting to develop a home practice
    • Seasoned yogis who desire more one-on-one detail
  • Semi-private yoga sessions include all of the benefits of private classes but are shared between friends or family. Create your own intimate yoga class as a way to unite and spend more time with those you love!
